These words, from poet, Mary Oliver, became the stuff of our days at Rhoscolyn, Anglesey. Yoga and mindfulness practices interspersed with walks along the coastline. Watching newborn lambs resting in the sun - one leaping and prancing in mad circles - white-tailed rabbits hopping away over fields, gulls and crows swooping and gliding on the wind, sunlight glittering on water, an unbelievably large fluffy caterpillar, listening to the exuberant birdsong ...some of the things that filled us with delight and astonishment.
The seed of the idea grew from a conversation among Margie Rayner's walking group and blossomed into a definite plan when she asked me if I'd be interested in running the yoga and mindfulness on the weekend, while she took on the admirable feat of organising the whole thing AND cooking the deliciously heart-warming meals - with a little help from her friends.
Thank you Margie for coming up with the idea - and for the wonderful food.
Thank you Outdoor Alternative, for providing a great venue.
And thank you to all the lovely folk who made the weekend what is was - one filled with camaraderie, good cheer, conversations and connection.
